Description from the seller
Elegant zoomorphic jug in glazed ceramic, manufactured by the prestigious French house Saint-Clément, identified at the base with the number 7492. The piece, from the mid-20th century (circa 1950–1970), represents a stylized duck, conceived both as a functional object and as a decorative piece, within the French ceramic tradition of a popular and ornamental character.
It stands out for its vibrant glaze in gradients of green, blue, and warm tones, applied over a detailed form that enhances the plumage and the animal’s expressiveness. The shape intelligently integrates the handle and the pouring spout into the creature’s own anatomy, providing formal balance and dynamism.
With approximate dimensions of 34 cm in height and 15 cm in width, it is a large example within its type, which reinforces its decorative presence.
It is presented in very good condition, with a glossy glaze and no visible structural damage. A representative piece of mid-century French ceramics, ideal both for a collection and to add a distinctive accent in characterful interiors.
