Description from the seller
An impressive and very heavy scale in the shape of a boat, on a foot, possibly produced by the famous Baccarat crystal factory in France.
This monumental piece is a prime example of 19th-century craftsmanship. The crystal is of exceptional purity and has a beautiful, deep tone characteristic of high-quality French lead crystal from this period.
Design and Cutting:
The bowl is richly decorated with the iconic 'Diamant Pierreries' pattern (sharp diamond heads) at the top, creating spectacular light entry and sparkle. The underside of the bowl is finished with broad, clean vertical facets (côtes plates), which flow smoothly into the turned stem. The heavy, square foot has a deeply cut star on its underside, testimony to the meticulous finish.
Specifications:

Length: 34.5 cm (Very large size!).
Depth: 17 cm.
Weight: 3792 (Almost 3.8 kg of solid crystal).

The piece is in remarkably good condition for its age.
