Original mixed-technique portrait by Matthieu Wiegman, titled Portret jongeman, created in the Netherlands between 1900 and 1910, hand-signed and in good condition, frame dimensions 79 by 69 cm.
Description from the seller
This is a drawing, a mixed-media work by Matthieu Wiegman. It concerns a portrait of a young man. The work is composed in neutral colors.
Later, Matthieu Wiegman, together with Leo Gestel and Arnout Colnot, would grow into one of the leading representatives of the Bergense School. His brother, Piet Wiegman, was also part of this circle of artists. In the work of both brothers, the influence of Paul Cézanne is clearly recognizable.
Dimensions: 50 x 40 cm
Dimensions with frame: 79 x 69 cm
Signed bottom right
Provenance: Private collection, The Netherlands
Viewing is of course possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, we would of course be glad to hear from you.
