AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Vernis Martin fan, late post-Napoleonic period, circa 1820.
About every 80 to 100 years or so, styles experience a revival in popularity, as was the case for Vernis Martin fans of the French Romantic era.
In very good condition, with a small blemish to note that can be seen in the photos; hand-painted with great finesse.
The guards and the mount are bone. A romantic court scene, a pastoral landscape. The floral motifs and the ornaments are absolutely magnificent, painted on both sides in a wonderful way.
The box is sold with the fan but is not the original box.
