Description from the seller
Sennheiser LUCAS:
The Sennheiser LUCAS is not a traditional home cinema setup with speakers.
It’s a surround DSP audio processor designed to simulate 5.1 sound… in stereo headphones.
You connect an audio source (TV, DVD player, etc.)
You put on headphones
And it recreates a virtual immersive surround effect
How it works
It includes a Dolby Pro Logic decoding
Then a DSP processing (called Toltec)
Which creates 5 “phantom” channels in your headset
Result: you get the impression that the sound is coming from the front, behind, to the sides… even though you only have 2 earphones.
Main features
External box (a bit like a large remote)
Compatible with 1 or 2 headphones
Classic stereo audio input
Motorola DSP processor (for spatial processing)
Custom sound settings
Period and origin
Old product (1990s–2000s)
Developed by an American company (Virtual Listening Systems)
Marketed under the Sennheiser brand
