Bedspread - 250 cm - 240 cm - Hand-embroidered cranes

Important antique bedspread made of linen organza, enriched with embroidery entirely done by hand and with spectacular hand-made lace inserts of high artisanal quality.
The composition is dominated by a wide central medallion in needle lace, rich in swirls and ornamental motifs, which develops symmetrically.
Inside the organza panels unfolds the refined motif of swans in flight, hand-embroidered with great care in the details.
The birds have finely delineated wings, plumage rendered with small regular stitches and elongated necks that confer elegance and movement.
Each figure is enclosed by delicate floral garlands embroidered, typical of the decorative taste of the early decades of the twentieth century.
The perimeter is embellished by a wide border in lace worked by hand with scroll motifs and ornamental junctions that connect the entire decorative structure.
The bedspread ends with the original fringe complete with hand-worked nappes (tassels).
The bedspread has never been used. It has been recently professionally washed solely to eliminate the musty odor due to long storage.
After washing it has been sealed in an airtight bag by the dry cleaner and will be shipped while maintaining this protection.
