Dominican Green amber is a type of amber that exhibits a rare, clear coloration. It is most common in amber mines in the mountains near Santiago, Dominican Republic. Although little known due to its rarity, it has been around since the discovery of Dominican amber.(ambar dominicano) (completely filled with fossils, full of insects: mosquitoes, ants, termites)
Under artificial light, amber appears like ordinary amber, but under sunlight it has an intense fluorescent blue coloration. When held up to the sun it will appear like ordinary amber, and under ultraviolet light it will exhibit a brilliant milky blue color. They are estimated to be 25-44 million years old. Clean as water, completely transparent, unique piece for collection, something never auctioned on Catawiki, high quality
Being one of the most coveted in the world, Dominican blue amber is one of the most select and most expensive in the world, surpassing (Mexican amber and Baltic amber).
Qualified as an important gem, it has healing and hermetic properties as it helps balance emotions, increases the development of intellectual capacities, providing energy and vitality to its user. It is considered a unique protective amulet, hence its expensive value.
If you are not sure about purchasing this auction, let someone else who is really interested in it bid.
The photos have been taken under white light and natural light, only one under UV light to see its reaction and verify its authenticity.
The measurements are approximate 5,5x 5,5 x 4 cm
