Charming antique table-top coffee grinder, probably West European in origin from the second half of the 19th century. The body is made of oak or similar hardwood with dark-stained trim and base parts, indicating an artisanal furniture-making tradition.

On top there is a cast brass coffee hopper, attached with iron clamps to the wooden top. The cast-iron crank with a turned wooden handle is intact and functional. The grinding mechanism inside is present.

At the bottom a wooden drawer slides out to collect the coffee grounds, equipped with a turned wooden knob with an inlaid frame as decoration. The drawer moves smoothly.

Condition: used, with a nice authentic patina appropriate to the age. Light cracks in the wood, wear on the brass hopper and rusting on the ironwork — all original and unrestored. Fully complete and functional.

An atmospheric and decorative coffee grinder that can also serve as a functional object.
