■ Overview
I am offering the legendary Canon New FD 50mm f/1.4. This lens is celebrated as the "ideal standard lens," offering an incredible balance of sharpness and creamy bokeh. It is a favorite for both film photographers and mirrorless users.
■ My Maintenance Philosophy
This lens has been carefully serviced. My priority is to maintain the original quality and health of the lens. I avoid excessive cleaning or harsh polishing that could damage the delicate coatings. Instead, I focus on ensuring it performs perfectly for actual shooting. I prefer keeping the original glass healthy over over-polishing it to perfection.
■ Condition
Appearance: Beautiful condition overall.
While it looks great, please understand it is a vintage item and shows normal signs of use and age-related patina.
Optics (Serviced): NO active fungus.
The lens has been professionally cleaned. Due to its age and the nature of previous storage, there are some visible cleaning marks/residue from past fungus removal on the rear element, along with some internal dust and a very faint haze under strong light.
However, I have included a sample image taken with this specific lens, which confirms that these traces absolutely DO NOT affect image quality, contrast, or rendering. Please check the Sample Image in the gallery to see the crystal-clear results.
Note: All sample images were captured digitally using a Sony NEX-3 mirrorless camera with a dedicated mount adapter.
Functional: 100% Fully Functional.
The focus (helicoid) is smooth and precise.
The aperture blades are clean, oil-free, and snappy.
