Description from the seller
Small bar cabinet or nightstand "Diamond" - Mid-Century Modern style - circa 1950/1960
Structure: A veneered wood case with a piano lacquer finish offering exceptional gloss and depth.
Interior: The true aesthetic signature of this piece lies in its original interior. The lift reveals a straw-yellow Formica with a geometric diamond pattern ("Diamond pattern"), typical of the early Pop Art period.
Pedestals: Four tapered spindle feet. Note: the two front feet are fitted with original gold-toned brass toe caps, highlighting the piece's airy design.
Hardware: Lateral metal stay in gold tone and a central circular brass handle, underscoring the facade's elegance.
Condition:
The piece is in a nice vintage condition. The lacquer has retained all its shine. Note a slight natural play/wear on the lateral adjustment of the lid, with no impact on the closure, which remains perfectly functional and secure. The wood is sound and the structure is perfectly stable.
It is very likely beech or ash, veneered with a veneer of mahogany or walnut for the darker parts.
Dimensions:
Length: 60 cm
Width: 35 cm
Height: 63.5 cm
Depth of the compartment: 30 cm
