Murano glass flower with a silk stem – length 40 cm

This flower is handmade in Murano using the traditional lampworking technique.
The glassblower uses a colored glass cane, brought to malleability temperature by the flame of a gas-fired torch. The glass, once malleable, is shaped and wound around a thin metal support, allowing the desired form to be achieved.
The lampworking technique allows the creation of extremely detailed subjects, such as flowers, animals and small decorative elements.
In the case of flowers, once the bud and leaves are finished, the piece is hand-inserted onto a silk-covered stem and reinforced with metal wire, so that it can be used for arrangements, decorations and displays.
