This flower is entirely handmade in Murano using the traditional flame-working technique.
The master glassblower uses a colored glass cane, brought to the malleability temperature by the flame of a gas-powered torch. The glass, once malleable, is shaped and wound around a thin metal support, allowing the desired form to be obtained.
The flame-working technique allows the creation of extremely detailed subjects, such as flowers, animals and small decorative elements.
In the case of flowers, once the bud and leaves are finished, the piece is hand-inserted onto a silk-covered stem reinforced with wire, so it can be used for arrangements, decorations and displays.
