Yamaha A-500 – technically inspected, measured, very clean condition

A very beautiful vintage jewel

I am selling a Yamaha A-500, which I have fully serviced: small parts replaced, cleaned, and measured for verification.

This is explicitly not an untested device, but a technically cleanly built amplifier.

Work performed:

• all inputs tested (including Phono MM and MC)

• switches and potentiometers cleaned

• speaker relays renewed

• device interior completely cleaned

• offset and idle current set correctly

• critical solder joints checked

• 3 transistors replaced (due to thermal irregularities)

• speaker relays replaced

• phase at the mains plug adjusted


Measurement (Rohde & Schwarz Audio Analyzer):

• Distortion at 1 watt:

• Distortion at 95 watts (maximum distortion-free output):

• measurement performed at 8 ohms in stereo operation

• both channels equally stable

Condition / Function:

• technically flawless

• no dropouts or contact problems

• plays very cleanly and stably


Appearance: Very well maintained condition (see photos)
