A Vintage HiFi collectors item set from Tannoy, type: Venus MKII V30, top-class speakers.
Made from walnut wood.
The Venus MKII V30 is very rarely offered. This is, by the way, the first time Catawiki is auctioning this model.
The Venus was part of the Planet series from the mid-1980s, which also included the very successful Mercury. Other models were the Saturn and the Jupiter.
The Venus was highly regarded at the time and had a real wood veneer (walnut), a time-synchronized crossover and a woofer made of transparent plastic. I can’t think of much more to add, except that they have a warm, full sound with good bass response and are pleasant to listen to and suitable for various music genres.
In short, "A rare and sought-after model that rarely appears on the market."
