Description from the seller

GERMANY. Westphalia. 5 Mark. 1921.

- Value: 5 Mark.
- Year: 1921.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: WESTFALEN LAMB-579.3 ALUMINUM. Reverse: NOTGELD DER PROVINZ WESTFALEN 5 MARK 1921.
- Grade: MS62 (NGC)

Emergency coin (Notgeld) issued during the difficult period of the Weimar Republic, after World War I. The obverse features the portrait of General Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, hero of the Napoleonic Wars, while the reverse shows a rampant horse, heraldic symbol of Westphalia. These coins were minted in aluminum due to the scarcity of precious metals, and represent a singular chapter of German monetary history.

Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
