Description from the seller
Set of six elegant footed cups in silvered metal. These cups feature a richly chased decoration of floral motifs, scrolls and festoons. Each cup bears on two sides an oval blank cartouche, ready to be engraved with initials or a crest. The upper border is adorned with a frieze of beadwork.
Technical details:
• Material: High-quality silver-plated metal (EPNS - Electroplated Nickel Silver, a standard alloy for durable tableware).
• Decoration: Fine, detailed chasing on the cup and the stem.
• Interior: The inside of the cups shows a slight golden reflection, typical of the manufacturing technique for food use.
Condition:
Nice overall condition. The cups retain an original patina and are not dented.
Important note on wear: The silver plating is worn in some areas, revealing the yellow base metal beneath through the translucency, notably on the upper rims of some cups and on the edge of the delicate feet (see detailed photos). The interior of one cup shows more marked traces. These signs of use attest to the authenticity and age of the set.
