Description from the seller
Shirt from the Menphis Milano group produced in the 1980s by the Bolgheri company, which collaborated with them for the fashion sector. The design is by Sergio Maria Calatroni, an eclectic Italian architect and designer born in Pavia in 1951, known mainly for his work in architecture and industrial design (he has collaborated with brands such as Alessi and Shiseido), but also with a deep connection to the world of fashion. He curated the direction of fashion shows and installations for notable names such as Issey Miyake. In the 1970s/80s he was an active member of the Memphis group founded by Ettore Sottsass, with Michele De Lucchi, Nathalie Du Pasquier, George J. Sowden, Aldo Cibic, Matteo Thun, Martine Bedin, Marco Zanini, Peter Shire, Shiro Kuramata, Michael Graves and Andrea Branzi. The shirt features an abstract and geometric pattern that reflects the Memphis creative designs of the period’s most fertile years. The shirt is new, never worn, and it is rare and of interest to collectors.
