“20th Anniversary of the National Day of the State of Kuwait” — 1981
Issued by the Central Bank of Kuwait on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Kuwait's National Day, celebrated February 25, 1981.
Design:
The obverse features symbols of the ancient Kuwaiti civilization: a gateway of the ancient Kuwait wall, fishing nets and a ship’s helm, with inscriptions in Arabic and English indicating the anniversary. The reverse depicts elements of modern Kuwait: a tower of an industrial complex, an offshore platform, the radar network of the Umm El-Aish satellite telecommunications station, the Kuwait water towers, and the Central Bank of Kuwait building — symbol of the country’s progress from 1961 to 1981.
