Large Kuba-cloth, made by the Kuba-people of the Congo and made with rapphiafibers and woven into larger cloths.
Decorated with complex geometric patterns, made with embroideries and appliques. Used as ceremonial clothing, as a trade-item or as a non-traditional currency. Dim.; 245 x 63 cm. From the collection of the late Dutch artist Rob Aussen,
who had a large collection of textiles and started collecting in the 1960`s.
