Description from the seller
BASSO LOTO (1987) – A FLAGSHIP OF ITALIAN ENGINEERING IN CAMPAGNOLO C-RECORD & DELTA
Historical introduction and prestige
Founded by Alcide Basso in the late 1970s, the Basso house embodies the excellence of the “made in Italy.” The Loto model, spearheading the range at the end of the 1980s, represents the golden age of steel bicycle racing. This frame is not merely a collectible object; it is a piece of technical goldsmithing. Designed with high-end steel tubes, it offers the perfect balance between rigidity for competition and timeless elegance. Wearing a tricolour livery (green, purple, white) emblematic of the era, this exemplar is a true time capsule.
Technical sheet and exceptional components
This bike stands out for its “full period correct” setup with the most sought-after groupset in cycling history: Campagnolo C-Record.
frame: high-quality steel, race geometry.
size: 58 cm (center-top) / top tube: 56 cm (center-center).
drivetrain: Campagnolo C-Record 2x7 speeds.
crankset: Campagnolo C-Record “drilled” (vented), an aesthetic rarity.
brakes: the legendary Campagnolo Delta brakes, considered the most beautiful brake calipers ever produced, true icons of industrial design.
cockpit: Cinelli stem and handlebar combination, the absolute reference of the 80s.
wheels: anodised Mavic Open 4CD rims, mounted on Campagnolo C-Record hubs.
saddle: Concor Supercorsa Comfort.
condition: bike preserved with the greatest care, inspected and fully mechanically prepared.
Why is this piece unique?
It is rare to find a Basso Loto in such fresh condition, especially equipped with a complete Campagnolo C-Record groupset including the Delta brakes. It is an “exhibition” configuration ready to join a private collection or to hit the roads of Eroica. The chrome finish on the fork and rear stays, combined with the striking paintwork, make it a centerpiece for any vintage cycling enthusiast.
