AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Very beautiful and old centerpiece, signed "F. BARBEDIENNE" for Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892), a famous Parisian founder. It is also stamped with an "L" beneath the base. Estimated period: second half of the 19th century. It can be used as a catch-all tray or as a centerpiece. A piece of very good and fine manufacture with pretty details such as heart-shaped leaves on the handles. Ferdinand Barbedienne is regarded as one of the best French founders, if not the best, by specialists. In the center of the piece, there is a medallion with the head of an ancient Greek woman shown wearing a laurel crown and a knot at the back of her hair. Very good condition. Time has left its mark with traces of oxidation visible in the numerous photos. Observe the photos closely, they form an integral part of the description. Dimensions: 15 x 18 x 24 cm. Weight: 1.17 kg. A note for collectors and lovers of beautiful decorative pieces. Fast and careful shipping.
