Vincent Decat designed an aluminium Tripod Lamp in France, dating to 2023, standing 60 cm high with 28 cm width and depth, silver colour, unused and in working order.
Description from the seller
My pieces are designed to be companions rather than possessions. I give my objects organic, animated qualities, hoping that people will become attached to them as to pets.
Vincent Decat is a Paris-based artist-designer, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He views an object's durability not only through its materials but above all through the emotional bond it evokes. By making his objects almost alive, they become companions that people must care for, keep, and cherish.
Some industrial components possess aesthetic qualities that we sometimes overlook when we focus solely on their function. Our perception changes once they are taken out of their context and introduced into a different setting.
The rotating head of the Tripod lamp allows for different angles of light projection in a space, thanks to its adjustable faucet connector. The body of the lamp is made up of curtains, plumbing fittings, and hinges.
Technical information :
Lamp available for countries using a 220–230 V supply.
Allow an additional two weeks for outlets other than Type E.
The lamp head is designed to swivel, allowing easy adjustment of the light's orientation.
