All automatic watches require winding at first use; wrist movement alone is not enough to maintain the required power reserve.

RULE FOR ALL WATCHES WITH A DATE
To avoid possible damage to the watch mechanism, please do not set the date via the crown when the time is between 21:00 and 03:00. It is recommended to set the date via the crown when the time is between 03:05 and 20:55. (Some models have a screw-down crown; to adjust settings, gently unscrew the crown counterclockwise. Remember to securely screw the crown back in after modifying the desired settings.)
