Description from the seller
Indonesian seating group – hand-carved – teak wood – 4 chairs & table – 20th century.
⸻
Description:
For sale is an exceptional, fully hand-carved seating group made from solid teak. The set consists of four armchairs and a rectangular coffee table, crafted in traditional Balinese-Javanese artisanal workmanship.
The pieces feature finely worked relief carvings on the backs, side surfaces, and tabletop: including elephants, dance and temple scenes, floral motifs, and animals. These richly ornate carvings are typical of Southeast Asian style with colonial influence—a combination of functional European furniture construction and traditional Asian iconography.
The teak has a warm, golden-brown glow with a beautiful patina. All pieces are very solid, sturdy, and intricately finished.
