Description from the seller

Vintage Sheffield Silver-Plated Lidded Bowl/Trinket/Jewelry Box with Acorn Finial on Three Feet – Pseudo-Hallmarks (Crown, Lion, a, B), England

Charming English silver-plated lidded bowl made in “Sheffield”, the famous centre of British metalware production (early to mid-20th century).

The piece has a graceful rounded body with a decorative engraved band near the base, a domed lid topped by a finely detailed “cast acorn finial”, and three elegant claw-and-ball style feet for stability and classic appeal.

It is clearly marked on the base with attractive “pseudo-hallmarks”: a “crown”, a “lion passant”, the lowercase letter “a”, and the letter “B” in a shield. These marks were commonly used on high-quality Sheffield silverplate to evoke the look and prestige of sterling silver hallmarks.

Origin: Sheffield, England
Material: Quality silver plate
Dimensions: 14 cm (L) × 12 cm (W) × 12 cm (H)
Weight: 389 grams
Condition: Good vintage condition with a warm, reflective patina and normal signs of age and use. There is a small, hardly visible dent on one side that does not affect stability or overall appearance.

This elegant bowl makes a lovely decorative centerpiece, small jewelry/trinket box, or serving piece for nuts, sweets, or condiments. A fine example of traditional Sheffield silverplate craftsmanship with the ever-popular acorn motif.

Highlights:

- Classic Sheffield silver plate with detailed acorn finial and three claw feet
- Attractive pseudo-hallmarks (crown, lion, a, B) typical of quality English silverplate
- Functional and decorative design with good weight and presence

Buyer note: All items are carefully inspected, accurately photographed from multiple angles, and professionally packed with extra protection before shipping. Buyers are kindly requested to make a short video of the package opening and then inspect the item promptly. Please contact me with clear photos or video (including packaging) if any issue arises.
