The Designer: Willy Rizzo
Willy Rizzo was a famous Italian-French photographer and designer. Even before he began designing furniture, he was one of the world's most famous photographers, capturing icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Salvador Dalí, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, and Pablo Picasso.
His foray into the world of furniture began almost as a game in the 1960s, when, not finding furniture that satisfied his taste for his Rome apartments, he decided to design them himself.
His design reflects his world: sophisticated, luxurious, and deeply modern.
The Manufacturer: Mario Sabot
Mario Sabot was one of the most forward-thinking Italian manufacturers of the period, known for bringing Willy Rizzo's visions to life. The company stood out for the exceptionally high quality of finishes and for its ability to industrialize complex artisanal processes, becoming a benchmark brand for luxury furnishings in the 1970s.
