Altro brand Viking ship model (Drakkar) in brass and copper with a brown patina, 19 cm high, 25 cm wide and 3 cm deep, dating to circa 1950–1960, in good condition without original packaging, complete with 14 brass shields (7 per side) and with sail cords replaced during restoration.

Elegant Viking Ship (Drakkar) Vintage in Copper and Brass - 14 Shields - 1950s/60s
Refined vintage decorative sculpture depicting a legendary Viking Drakkar, an excellent example of Mid-Century metallurgical craftsmanship (circa 1950-1960). The model is distinguished by the prow finely worked into a dragon's head and the curved stern, iconic symbols of Norse seafaring. The object is made of copper and brass, materials that exhibit a magnificent and natural patina of time, unmistakable sign of authenticity and natural aging of the metal.
Technical and Conservational Details:
Materials: Frame and sail in copper, ornaments and shields in brass.
Weight: Approximately 450 grams.
Integrity of Shields: The ship is complete with 14 brass shields (7 per side).
All shields are present, intact, and firmly anchored to the structure, a rare detail of great value for collectors.
Restoration Work: It should be noted that the sail rigging (copper wires) have been replaced with new copper wires, as the originals had been broken by time. The restoration was carried out respecting the original lines and materials of the object.
