Description from the seller
Pair of vintage French prosthetic eyes (1950s) with glass dome – Cabinet de Curiosités / Medical Oddity
Pair of vintage prosthetic eyes of French origin, datable to the 1950s of the 20th century.
Made in a glass-effect composite material, they offer iris rendering with surprisingly realistic depth and shading, typical of prosthetic production of the era.
The lot is supplied with a glass dome and a wooden base, included, which transforms the whole into a true display for a cabinet of curiosities, evoking European Wunderkammer and historical medical collections.
The eyes are mounted on display supports and are not glued to the base of the dome, thus preserving their original integrity and allowing versatile presentation.
Objects originally designed for medical/optical use, today valued as authentic collecting curiosities, ideal for artistic spaces, creative studios, or oddity collections.
A visually striking ensemble, rarely found ready in this display-ready form.
