Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Reticulated Basket – Qing Dynasty, Jiaqing Period (1796–1820)

An elegant Chinese porcelain basket executed in the refined famille rose palette, dating to the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1796–1820).

The piece features a finely pierced (reticulated) body, imitating a woven basket, with a repeating geometric and floral openwork pattern. The scalloped rim is decorated with iron-red and gilt detailing. At the center of the interior, a delicate hand-painted floral spray in soft polychrome enamels exemplifies the aesthetic of the famille rose tradition.

The basket is fitted with two applied side handles, highlighted with traces of gilding, adding both elegance and balance to the composition.

Such objects were valued for both decorative and functional purposes, often used for serving nuts or fruit, or as refined display pieces in scholarly or domestic interiors.

Period: Qing Dynasty, Jiaqing reign (1796–1820)
Material: Porcelain
Technique: Reticulated (pierced) body, famille rose enamels, gilt accents
Condition: Good overall condition, with minor signs of wear and some rubbing to the gilding consistent with age. (Please refer carefully to the photographs for details.)

A delicate and refined example showcasing the technical skill and artistry of early 19th-century Chinese porcelain.
