Jacopo Mattia Alegiani has exhibited over the years in both public and private institutions, including the Venice Art Biennale, the Museum of the Imperial Forums in Rome, and major international art fairs such as Art Basel Miami. His works are held in galleries and museum collections.
Active since the mid-1980s as one of the most prominent figures in the graffiti scene, under the pseudonym “The JA”, Alegiani developed a long and coherent artistic research path. His work evolves from urban interventions to large-scale canvases, ultimately focusing on the visual language of digital imagery.
In the late 1990s, he experimented with unconventional materials, including plastic grids, to explore the structure of pixels and the symbolism of interconnected systems—bridging the physical and digital worlds. His practice investigates perception, light, and movement, positioning his work within a contemporary dialogue between material painting and digital aesthetics.
