Description from the seller
Superb ancient wooden religious frame carved, in Louis XV / Rococo style, lined with rich red velvet, designed to hold a crucifix or a devotional element.
The decor is particularly refined, with very beautiful volutes, flowers and scrolls in the fashion of the 18th century. The top features remarkable ecclesiastical iconography, with mitre, crozier and Bible, clearly evoking an episcopal context.
The whole offers an exceptional decorative presence and constitutes a piece of choice for a collection of religious art, objects of piety, or for a distinctive decoration.
Likely European workmanship from the late 18th century to the 19th century, in the Louis XV style.

- Very strong visual presence
- Carved wood of very fine quality
- Superb rocaille / Louis XV decor
