JAEGER Recital 8 mechanical travel alarm clock – 1960s – with alarm function, very nice gold-plated case! A circa 1960 JAEGER Recital 8 mechanical travel alarm clock, which, in addition to its compact size and elegant appearance, represents a truly interesting piece of engineering. The movement runs nicely and keeps accurate time, all functions operate perfectly, and the alarm sounds loudly, clearly, and for an extended duration. It is a stable, solidly built piece; the base is firm with no looseness, and the structural components are in remarkably good condition considering its age. Beautiful white dial with a finely brushed finish, featuring a radial texture spreading outward from the center. Painted black and applied gold-tone indices, along with tritium hands (marked “T Swiss Made T”). The dial is overall in very nice condition, gently aged, with minor speckled patina visible in places. The window at 12 o’clock serves as the alarm time indicator, where the desired alarm time can be set – a characteristic and distinctive feature of this model. The gold-plated case is in particularly nice condition, with well-preserved, wear-free surfaces. Some light surface oxidation and patina are visible on the back, which is a natural result of age. Scratch-free plexiglass crystal. Mechanical, hand-wound movement with separate winding for the timekeeping and alarm functions. Dimensions: Total height including base: 49 mm Diameter: 47 mm (measured between 3 and 9 o’clock) Thickness / depth: 23 mm This piece belongs to the JAEGER Recital series and was most likely produced between 1955 and 1965. A characterful vintage piece suitable for any collection, enjoyable both in function and appearance. The photos form part of the description.
