Dial and Hands
The dial of this Oris is a visual delight, featuring a striking silver-tone finish with a deeply textured, wave-like guilloché pattern in the central medallion. Applied gold-tone Arabic numerals at the quarters are interspersed with faceted arrowhead indices, all of which catch the light beautifully. The outer perimeter displays the date track printed in a crisp, contrasting blue serif typography. Time is indicated by elegant gold-tone alpha hands, while the signature pointer date complication utilizes a slender hand tipped with a red half-moon to frame the current date. The dial is exceptionally well-preserved, remaining entirely clean and free of visible spotting, moisture marks, or discoloration, presenting a fresh and vibrant appearance.
Case and Crystal
The 34mm stainless steel case is elegantly proportioned, featuring a fully polished finish that enhances its classic appeal. A distinctive stepped bezel with a subtle coin-edge lower tier adds architectural depth to the watch profile. The lugs sweep downward gracefully, providing a comfortable fit on the wrist. The case exhibits only light, honest handling marks consistent with careful wear, with no deep scratches or significant impacts. The domed crystal is clear and free of major blemishes, offering an unobstructed view of the intricate dial beneath. The exhibition caseback allows for a clear view of the mechanical movement.
Movement
Visible through the display caseback is the Oris Caliber 574, an automatic movement based on the robust ETA 2688 architecture, featuring 17 jewels. The movement is handsomely finished with a gold-tone oscillating weight proudly engraved with the Oris branding and a textured motif. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher results indicate a deviation of +10 to +12 seconds per day with strong amplitude.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original stainless steel beads-of-rice style bracelet, which perfectly complements the vintage aesthetic of the case. The multi-link design provides excellent flexibility and comfort. The folding clasp is deeply stamped with the classic Oris logo on the exterior, and the inner blades bear the proper Oris signatures and reference numbers (7 18 24/37). The bracelet shows normal, light surface wear but remains structurally sound.
Condition
This timepiece is presented in excellent vintage condition. The dial and hands are immaculately preserved, acting as the visual centerpiece of the watch. The stainless steel case retains its factory lines and polished surfaces, showing only minor superficial wear. The movement is running strongly and accurately, and the original bracelet completes this highly attractive package.
