Ancient forged-iron hay cutter. An agricultural tool from peasant agrarian culture, used to cut portions of hay or straw from haystacks. It features a forked blade to penetrate the material and a bracket or elbow-shaped neck where a wooden handle was inserted. The blade was driven into the haystack by pressing with the foot on the upper part of the tool to cut slices of hay.

Antico tagliafieno in ferro forgiato. Attrezzo agricolo, della civiltà contadina, utilizzato per tagliare porzioni di fieno o paglia dai pagliai. Presenta una lama  biforcata per penetrare il materiale e una staffa o un collo a gomito dove veniva inserito un manico in legno.
La lama veniva conficcata nel pagliaio spingendo con il piede sulla parte superiore dell'attrezzo per tagliare fette di fieno.
