Architectural ornament - 1850-1900

Ancient carved wooden cornice, an architectural and decorative element typically used as a crown molding for furniture (wardrobes, bookcases), doors or mirrors. Made in Italy at the end of the 19th century, early 20th century.
The central decoration features two carved birds, surrounded by floral and botanical motifs with lateral scrolls.
In good condition with normal signs of time and wear; to note: small loss and old woodworm holes already treated with a first coat of anti-termite treatment.
Dimensions are 81 x 33 cm with a thickness at the highest point of about 5 cm.
