Description from the seller
CHINA. Dollar. 1927.
- Value: Dollar.
- Year: 1927.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: 中華民國 十六年 壹圓. Reverse: MEMENTO · REPUBLIC OF CHINA · ONE DOLLAR.
- Grading: AU55 (NGC).
Silver “Memento” type coin with a left-facing portrait of Sun Yat-sen, in a realistic and sober style, framed by a dotted fillet and a legend in Chinese characters. The reverse presents a symbolic composition with ears of grain and foliage surrounding the central characters, alongside the English legend and six-pointed stars, a characteristic of this variant. The specimen shows moderate wear in the high-relief areas, with details still well defined in the portrait and botanical elements, fields with a homogeneous gray patina and circulation marks visible but not aggressive. A representative piece of the Chinese republican period, minted as a commemorative issue in a context of political transition and monetary modernization.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (e.g., the Canary Islands), it might be stopped by your local customs and you may be asked to pay taxes. This is a customs/legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
