Description from the seller

Episcopal ciborium in vermeil silver richly adorned with amethyst cabochons set in bezel mounts, arranged on the lid, the knop and the foot. The interior bowl is fully gilded according to liturgical usage. The domed lid is surmounted by a trilobed Latin cross.

The knop and the foot repeat a rhythmic decoration of amethysts in polylobed engraved frames, evoking the episcopal symbolism of liturgical purple.

Under the base there is an engraved inscription reading “Monseigneur de Grammont,” indicating episcopal destination.

Marks:
– Master goldsmith Edmond Lesage, Paris (lozenge EL)
– Minerve first title (950‰)

Height: 26 cm
Weight: 563 g

Very good overall condition, slight wear to the vermeil. Amethysts intact.

Parisian work of high quality, late 19th century.

The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement their presentation. Please examine them carefully before any commitment.

The item will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
