Bloemen, an oil painting by Th van Oorschot (1979), from the Netherlands, in an impressionist style, 90 by 70 cm, hand-signed, original edition, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Theodorus (Dorus) van Oorschot (Schijndel, July 22, 1910 – 's-Hertogenbosch, October 13, 1989) was a Dutch painter.
He worked mainly in an impressionistic style, frequently depicting the landscapes of the Meierij van 's-Hertogenbosch as his subjects. He also painted many still lifes. His colorito is somewhat more exuberant than that of the earlier Dutch Impressionism of the Hague School.
Until 1972 he lived in a house with an attached studio on Dokter Poelsstraat, near the center of Schijndel. Afterwards he moved to Venushoek, a little west of Schijndel. His old studio there, in a farm, has since May 1, 1997 been used as a museum: the Atelier van Oorschot. The last opening was on Sunday, December 21, 2008. On the corner of Schootsestraat and Venushoek stands a statue of him. He is depicted with an easel.
