This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable, natural materials. The method of knotting and the variety of patterns make this rug a unique piece and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character.
It concerns an excellent used rug with an extremely long lifespan.
This is a lightly used, cleaned rug that can be laid down as is. Special & beloved rug, very finely knotted centerpiece. Hand-knotted in Turkmenistan, by the Teke tribe(s). Comparable to the better-known Yomut, but even more exclusive. This Teke tribe did not knot carpets as often as the larger Yomut tribes. Thus rarer and full of stories, open to personal interpretation. Wonderful rug made of 100% wool, hand-knotted somewhere between 1930 and 1950 and still in unusually good condition for its age.
Main color: Red
Accent colors: Cream and brown- and blue-toned
Details: Rich abrash (natural color differences); Many shades; Beautiful clean and fresh; Stunning sheen; Depending on the viewing angle this rug has a lighter and a darker side; Rare object; Finely knotted; Large & impressive rug full of stories; 100% wool.
Signs of wear: Minimal, barely visible signs of use, inevitable with rugs of this age.
