Description from the seller

A splendid and authentic Hereke silk carpet, with exceptional craftsmanship and artistic finesse hand-knotted in Turkey. Fully made of natural silk on a silk warp and weft, this rug displays the characteristic sheen and refinement that distinguish the best Hereke carpets.

The design is centered around a flower-shaped vase flanked by two peacocks, symbols of beauty, prosperity and harmony. Finely woven floral borders frame the central motif, executed in a refined color palette of warm terracotta, olive green, ruby red, ivory and gold.

This small-format rug reflects the mastery of the Hereke weavers, who since the 19th century have produced silk court-quality carpets for the Ottoman palace. Due to its compact size and refined pattern, it is ideally suited to be shown as a decorative wall rug or table piece.
