Description from the seller

GENERAL:

The Citroën DS is undoubtedly one of the most iconic classics ever built, acclaimed for its advanced technology and timeless design. This 1973 example is offered in a particularly stylish and elegant version.

The car is in a very well-kept and well-maintained condition. It is not a fully restored specimen, but an original DS kept with care, with a beautiful appearance and excellent driving characteristics.

BODYWORK & PAINTWORK:

The bodywork is rust-free and in very good condition. The paint presents itself excellently, with only minimal imperfections typical of normal use.

The car is finished in a deep dark blue color, combined with a silver-colored roof. The roof has recently been professionally repainted in metallic silver, having been fully dismantled and fitted with new rubbers. The B- and C-pillars are also included in this finish.

This color combination highlights the elegant lines of the DS and gives the car an extra exclusive appearance.

TECHNICAL:

The car’s mechanics are well maintained and function as they should. The engine runs smoothly and reliably. For improved performance and reliability, a 123 Bluetooth ignition has been installed, including the matching coil.

The manual transmission shifts smoothly through all four gears without extraneous noises. The undercarriage feels tight and solid.

As is typical for the DS, the hydropneumatic suspension provides exceptionally comfortable driving dynamics. In combination with hydraulically assisted brakes and steering, this offers a unique driving experience.

Recently performed maintenance:

* Roof professionally repainted (dismantled) and fitted with new rubbers
* New exhaust mounted
* Major service performed
* Electronic ignition installed
* New fuel pump and fuel lines
* Carburetor cleaned and fitted with new gaskets
* Valves adjusted
* New valve cover gasket installed
* Caliber radio installed (classic look with modern functions such as Bluetooth, AUX and USB)

INTERIOR:

The interior is finished in brown synthetic leather and is in neat, well-kept condition. The upholstery is stylish and fits perfectly with the exterior.

The interior contributes to the characteristic comfort of the DS and offers a pleasant and authentic driving experience.

DOCUMENTS:

Further documentation and history are available. More details can be provided on request.

PICK-UP:

The car can be viewed by appointment in Arnhem.
Pickup after purchase by arrangement.

OTHER INFORMATION:

A particularly beautiful and elegant Citroën DS for the enthusiast who is looking for an original classic with presence and comfort.

This DS combines an excellent condition with recent technical investments and is ready to use immediately. A rare opportunity to own an iconic model that still captures the imagination.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
