Beautiful oil painting on canvas in an expensive Paul Gehring frame with a portrait in Corte, Corsica
Signed lower left.
Also signed with his address in Amsterdam on the back of the stretcher.
Canvas size 65 x 81 cm. Frame size 78 x 94 x 5 cm.
The frame shows signs of wear and is included free of charge.
Jack Hamel was born in Kralingen on 24 November 1890 and died in The Hague on 13 January 1951.
Education at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague.
Son of the artist Willem Hamel.
Was initially an actor.
In the 1920s he traveled with Wim Schuhmacher to Italy and France.
Often exhibited and his work sold well.
Works include the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and Museum Arnhem.
