The work represents the climax of the mythical metamorphosis. Unlike classical marble versions (such as Bernini), where the delicacy of the leaf is sought, a "Dafne de cal" suggests a transformation that is more violent and heavy. Lime is an abrasive and arid material; its use implies that the nymph not only becomes a plant, but remains "fossilized" in her escape.
Signed by the artist on the back. It is part of a limited edition series of 10 units numbered and signed, all of them with a different exterior patina.
