925 sterling silver pendant, a unique handcrafted piece made in Mexico in the 1980s or 90s. It features a large black "Galaxy" opal from the mines of Durango, weighing approximately 24 carats and measuring 3.2 x 2.2 cm. This is a very rare opal, reminiscent of some opals from Guatemala and Andamooka (Australia), but the Durango Galaxy opal is much rarer and displays flashes of color of varying sizes. The pendant measures 4.2 x 2.6 cm.
