Description from the seller
Overview/Conditions
Very rare 1975 Triumph 2500 PI MK2 Saloon, the last 'Facelift' model produced in only 2,153 units, this is No. 1867. 6-cylinder 2500cc engine with mechanical Lucas injection like that mounted on the Triumph TR5 and TR6 models.
At the time it was one of the most performing four-door sports sedans, with a very modern and elegant bodyline designed by maestro Giovanni Michelotti. The last units produced like this, in addition to some mechanical upgrades, had a different grille and other modified details, hence the name 'Facelift'.
This example was sold on January 9, 1975 to the Italian importer Leyland Innocenti Spa, Dr. Bepi Koelliker, and used by him as his personal car.
Color Delft Blue with Blue velvet interior, and equipped with Sundym laminated glass, power steering, reinforced rear suspension springs, Dunlop SP68 tires, Borg Warner automatic transmission, European lights, trip odometer, heating.
The car was later sold to a friend of Dr. Koelliker living in Brescia, who kept it for many years in perfect condition. The history of this car is extensively documented in the multi-page article published in Ruoteclassiche, May 2024 issue. It also includes the rare Italian user and maintenance manual, the twin keys, the certificate from the British Motor Heritage Trust confirming interior and exterior colors and accessories, the original brochures from the era, other articles published in magazines, and several invoices for recent works.
Included are also some spare parts, including a new fuel-injection pump valued at 300 pounds.
The car is presented in truly excellent condition both in paintwork and interior and mechanically. It has no rust anywhere, not even in the underbody, having always been stored indoors. It is perfectly functional.
It has undergone many restoration works including a complete service, differential overhaul, replacement of bushings and steering joints, replacement of front brake pads and rear shoes, replacement of all brake hoses and radiator hoses including the thermostat, radiator overhaul, and replacement of all tires with costly Michelin XAS.
An itemized list of all works carried out is available, totaling about 6,500 euros.
The car is registered and listed with the English club dedicated to these cars. A truly rare vehicle for Triumph enthusiasts and collectors that is sure to attract attention at rallies; indeed, you will hardly see another one!
The car is located in Missaglia, province of Lecco, Italy and can be collected locally; the seller can potentially arrange shipping, and all costs, such as the transfer of ownership or deregistration in case of export, will be borne by the buyer.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
