Art Nouveau mosaic lamp, model Mosaico, made in Spain, in brass and crystal, in good used condition and in working order, measuring 25 cm wide, 25 cm deep and 40 cm high, dating to 1940–1950.
Description from the seller
It’s a lamp that carries in its skin all the charm of artisanal mosaic and, at the same time, that late Modernist aura that stayed alive well into the mid-20th century. The main body is formed by a sphere clad in tiny glass tesserae, irregular, hand-cut, creating a vibrant tapestry of golden, coppery, and iridescent reflections. It isn’t a rigid geometric mosaic, but one of those works where each piece finds its place almost organically, generating a warm, shifting glow when light passes through the whole.
The upper metal mounting, with its decorative edge and small side appliques, adds a touch of traditional craftsmanship, as if the lamp were born in a workshop where metal and glass conversed unhurriedly. At the bottom, the blown-glass cap — with that soft amber tone — acts as a suspended droplet of light, balancing the mosaic’s density with a more fluid and delicate note.
The result is a piece that fits perfectly in the reinterpretated Modernism of the 20th century, that moment when artisans revived ancient techniques to adapt them to more contemporary interiors. A decorative lamp, warm, with presence, that illuminates both by its light and by its texture.
Tracked shipping and careful packaging.
