Porsche 911 SC
In the 1978 model year the 911 range was reduced to two models. The 911 SC (Super Carrera) took the place of the 911 and Carrera models.
From the 1984 model year the SC version was again replaced by the 911 Carrera.
Door frame/handles
Until the 1978 model year, in the 911 SC the window frames and door handles were chrome, as in the previous 911 models; starting from the 1979 model year they were anodized black, as in the Carrera models.
Wheels
The 911 SC came standard with 15" ATS alloy wheels.
Exterior mirrors
The outside mirrors of the 911 SC were electrically adjustable and were painted in the body color.
Engines
The 911 SC was powered by a 3.0-liter boxer engine, whose power increased slightly over the years.
Model year 1978-79 – 3.0 liters, 180 hp
Model year 1980 – 3.0 liters, 188 hp
Model year 1981-83 – 3.0 liters, 204 hp
Bodywork
The 911 SC featured a wider bodyshell compared to the 911 Carrera. Cars from the 1981 model year onward are recognizable by the lateral flashers behind the front fenders.
From the 1983 model year the 911 SC Cabriolet was available for the first time, in addition to the Coupé and the Targa hardtop, a fully open-topped 911 with a fabric soft top.
Headlight frames
The headlight frames of the 911 SC were initially chrome, while from the 1979 model year they were painted in the body color.
