An antique anvil weighing 10 kg, cast iron, London Pattern, made in the United Kingdom circa 1900–1910, in very good condition with minor signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Antique Blacksmith Anvil 10kg – Model "London Pattern" in Forged Steel
Description
For sale, a splendid antique anvil weighing 10 kg, characterized by the classic English design (London Pattern). Despite its compact dimensions, it is a piece of great substance, ideal for small forging jobs, knifemaking, jewelry making, or as a refined industrial decorative element.
Technical Features:
Weight: 10 kg (ideal for a workbench or small spaces).
Material: High-quality forged steel (not cheap cast iron), ensuring excellent hammer rebound.
Design: Equipped with a conical horn for curves and a top face for flattening.
Service Holes: Features both the square hole (Hardy hole) for tool insertion and the circular hole (Pritchel hole) for punching.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The face shows a light patina of age that certifies its authenticity, without deep gouges that would impair use. Edges still well defined.
Why buy it:
Unlike modern cast-iron anvils that chip easily, this is a "tool of a bygone era" built to last generations. Perfect for those seeking an authentic, functional piece with a story to tell.
