EMW - 327-3 - 1955

GENERAL The EMW 327 is a significant post-war model of the original BMW 327. Following the end of World War II, these vehicles were rebranded to distinguish those produced under Soviet occupation from the cars authorized by the BMW head office in Munich. While the original BMW products utilized the iconic blue and white badge, these post-1945 Eisenacher Motoren Werke (EMW) models featured a distinctive red and white badge. This specific vehicle is an EMW 327-3 Sport Coupe with manufacturing serial number 88035. It represents a very rare piece of automotive history, as it is number 33 of only approximately 152 cars ever built at the Eisenach factory. BODYWORK & PAINT This example was the subject of an extensive restoration completed in 2005. The process was a dedicated labor of love by the current owner, resulting in a finish that earned a score of 4.81 out of 5.00 in a nationwide restoration competition. Although nearly 20 years have passed since the work was finalized, the car remains in great order. As is expected with any vehicle that has been used, there are some minor signs of wear visible in certain areas of the bodywork. TECHNICAL Mechanically, the vehicle is in complete working order and offers a great driving experience. Apart from the change in badging, the EMW 327 remained technically indistinguishable from the pre-war BMW 327 design. This car has been consistently maintained and serviced whenever required to ensure its continued performance. Since the restoration was completed, it has been driven approximately 3000 km. INTERIOR The interior was fully renewed and repaired as part of the comprehensive restoration project. The cabin environment was brought back to a high standard to match the quality of the mechanical and exterior work. DOCUMENTS Detailed documentation is available for this vehicle, including a significant collection of photographs. These images cover the car in its current state as well as a thorough photographic record of the entire restoration period. COLLECTION This vehicle is located for collection in Valkeakoski, Finland. It is currently held by a private owner who oversaw its award-winning restoration, offering a rare opportunity to acquire a limited-production unit from the Eisenach factory. OTHER INFORMATION Additional detailed photos are available and can be sent upon request for interested parties wishing to inspect the finer details of the car or its restoration history.
