Grand and notable 17th-century biblical painting that depicts the moment when Mary Magdalene renounces her wealth and her jewels, which symbolize her beauty and femininity, to devote herself to the heavenly love of Christ: this moment is designated in Catholic religion as "the Conversion of Mary Magdalene"... This painting does not appear signed and has never been examined by an expert, but its exquisite quality suggests the work of an excellent artist: one might think of an Italian Baroque painter at the end of the Renaissance, but there are Caravaggesque painters and also Flemish artists.
